Local History

The Mendon Library has a number of resources available for local history researchers. We maintain microfiche copies of the local newspaper, The Sentinel, from 8/31/1882 through 2001, and paper copies from 2002 to the present. (The Sentinel covers Mendon and surrounding towns, including Lima, West Bloomfield, and Rush.).

A volunteer is compiling an index of births, deaths, and marriages from the pages of the Sentinel. This index covers 1882 1895 and is available in the library. You are also invited to review the Libraweb databases - Rochester Images and Rochester History, which contain several references to our local community..
